Altaf Rahim serves as the Chief Risk Officer of Aurigen Group.

Before joining Aurigen, Mr. Rahim served as Chief Risk Officer with Transamerica Life Canada where he was responsible for the organization's risk management framework and activities including the establishment of risk strategy, policy and practices and the creation of risk-based identification, measurement and assessment systems. He also led the development of AEGON Canada's economic capital framework.

He joined Transamerica in 2000 as Managing Actuary of Life Marketing & Development with responsibility for managing the design, pricing and marketing of traditional life products and the negotiation of reinsurance treaties. In early 2006, he was promoted to Assistant Vice President, Risk Management with responsibility for the implementation of AEGON Canada's economic capital model framework and risk reporting to Transamerica's senior management group. Mr. Rahim was promoted to Chief Risk Officer later that year.

Prior to his employment with Transamerica, Mr. Rahim held various actuarial and financial positions with ING Life, AETNA Life Insurance and the Federal Government in the department of finance for Citizenship & Immigration Canada.

Mr. Rahim graduated from the University of Toronto in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He became a fellow of the Society of Actuaries in 2002, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries in 2002, and received his Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst designation in 2009.
