Soros Strategic Partners LP (“SSP”) is a private investment vehicle intended for long term duration investments primarily for the benefit of Mr. George Soros and members of the Soros family. SSP focuses on capital-intensive start-ups, buyouts, and growth equity transactions, and seeks to acquire world class assets that can generate strong and growing cash flows.

SSP has direct experience with both capital intensive start-ups and the reinsurance industry. In 2007, SSP committed approximately US$100 million to an investment in Syndicate Holding Corp., a newly formed Puerto Rican domiciled reinsurance company which will provide capital to and manage a series of syndicates within Lloyd’s of London. The SSP team also manages a US$132 million investment in privately held Glacier Reinsurance A.G. (“Glacier”). Glacier, an underwriter of specialty reinsurance risks headquartered in Postfach, Switzerland, was founded by SSP in 2004.

SSP invests in long-dated and illiquid investments. With respect to these investments, SSP focuses on generating value through growth, rather than financial engineering or highly leveraged transactions. To that end, SSP typically looks to partner with top-tier management teams seeking to establish or accelerate the growth of their business.
